The prospective recipient should be from the parish of St. Ann and he/ she will be selected after an interview process.

Ole Farmers Association North America, OFANA

The Ole Farmers Association North America, OFANA, is the official Alumni Association for graduates of The Jamaica School of Agriculture and Farm School and its successor colleges, COA & CASE. Founded in 2007 in New York, our mission is to preserve the spirit, values and guiding principles of our Alma Mater. We will accomplish this through a strong network of members and by leveraging our training, talents and experiences through social activities and the support of altruistic endeavors.

OFANA is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes to foster the advancement of Agricultural Education among students pursuing degrees in Agricultural related Sciences in Jamaica. OFANA has awarded three scholarships to qualified students at the College of Agriculture, Science and Education, (CASE) for the 2011-2012 academic years. The association is also committed to the continuation of these annual awards to qualified students.

Development Bank of Jamaica Limited Scholarship

Number of Award(s) – One (1)
Value – J$250,000 per annum
Maximum Tenure – Two (2) years


The award is available to students who are registered in Level II of the programme and are:

  • pursuing studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences majoring in Economics; OR
  • pursuing studies in the Faculty of Science and Agriculture (Agriculture-based).


The award will be based on:

  • high academic achievement (a GPA of at least 3.3);
  • the applicant being active members of their community;
  • verifiable financial need.

Method of Selection

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising representatives from The UWI and donor personnel.


The recipient is expected to live and work in Jamaica for a minimum period of three (3) years immediately after completing their studies.

Please Note

Graduates of the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE),who are qualified for direct entry to the UWI, may also apply for the award. Such applicants must submit, along with their application forms, a transcript from CASE addressed to the Manager, Office of Student Financing.

The MOU between CASE And Victory University

In cooperation between the colleges, College of Agriculture, Science, and Education and Victory University have recognized each other’s high standards of quality for education and willingness to support continued student growth. To maximize student potential and opportunities, an Articulation Agreement between the colleges strengthens the seamless transition to students from an associate’s degree to the bachelor’s degree level.

College of Agriculture, Science, and Education graduates who meet admissions requirements at the time of transfer will be guaranteed admissions into a bachelor’s degree at Victory*. Victory University may transfer up to 88 lower division community college credits into the bachelor’s degree program.

Victory Scholarship

Each May, Victory University will choose one College of Agriculture, Science, and Education student who is admitted to a bachelor’s program to be awarded a full-tuition scholarship. This scholarship will cover all tuition for the remainder of a students undergraduate program. Students who graduated from College of Agriculture, Science, and Education with a 2.0 cumulative GPA are encouraged to submit a Victory application for admission, a copy of a transcript showing proof of degree and GPA, and an essay on why he/she should be awarded the scholarship and how he/she will plan to support their community with the degree once complete.
