Case Alumni

On behalf of the College of Agriculture Science and Education (CASE) Alumni I extend sincere thanks and appreciation for providing me the opportunity to serve as the President of this noble association. As we celebrate our 110th Anniversary of the founding of the first institution, the Government Farm School, on January 25, 1910, it is with pride and joy that your humble servant extend greetings to all stakeholders’ in commemoration of this weekend of activities under our theme “Celebrating our Legacy, Creating Visions of Excellence”

This year’s activities will provide an environment for sharing of information through interaction between current students, ole farmers of various generations, faculty and staff, aligned with a common vision geared towards educational stimulation and motivation in pursuit of excellence. The various activities will commence on Friday, January 24, 2020 with an Intellectual Stimulation Symposium and will culminate with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, January 26, 2020.

Sincere thanks and appreciation for the tremendous support given by all the Ole Farmers to CASE (College of Agriculture Science and Education), the Caribbean’s premier multi- disciplinary tertiary level educational institution; the institution that has a track record of producing graduates who become leaders, and who are equipped with the competences, skills, and interpersonal attributes needed to be successful in the 21st Century! As an ole farmer, I can attest to this one of a kind institution which has shaped me with several unique qualities having the experience of the Jamaica School of Agriculture in 1980, the experience of its closure as a second year student in 1981, a pioneer graduate of the College of Agriculture and a current employee of CASE. A unique institution indeed!

As the membership of the Alumni continues its thrust to provide intrinsic and extrinsic valuable support to their Alma Mater it is with gratitude and pride that we applaud the efforts of its membership on yet another of its milestone. The many fundraising activities and individual financial contributions are testimonials of the commitment of members realising bursaries, scholarships and project funding aligned with degrees of specificity. As the College celebrates its 110th anniversary and continues to develop strategic initiatives for implementation to achieve university status, now more than ever is the opportune time for members to unite and seek meaningful means to assist in making this vision a reality.

The imminent success of Founders’ weekend resonates with the foundation laid by past executives led by Immediate Past President Webster McPherson, whose commitment, tenacity, loyalty, passion, and dedication is unquestionable. The legacy of ole farmers as a result of hard work, pride, love, sincerity, and commitment towards a worthy cause ensuring the sustainability of the contribution towards the attainment of specific goals of the College is pivotal to our existence.

We salute the executive and planning committee for their stewardship and the vigorous implementation of initiatives by the ‘Ole Framers’ and pray God’s blessings to continue to provide the strength and will required in facilitating the brand recognition and promotion of the College of Agriculture Science and Education.
