CASE 2014 Expo: “The Best Place for your Career Growth and Development.”

Sonja Simms – CASE Coordinator of Public Relations and Communications speaking with the College Registrar about the smooth flow of a previous Open Day.

The College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE), will be staging its annual Expo at the College in Passley Gardens, Portland, on February 27, 2014, under the theme, “CASE: The Best Place for your Career Growth and Development.”

The event which is slated to commence at 9am with an opening ceremony, will then ‘break-out’ into three major segments; Open Day, Health Fair and Career Fair with various display booths stretching across the college campus.

College President, Rev’d Dr. Mary A. Nichols, J.P., still beaming about the success of the inaugural event staged last year, states that, “the essence of this year’s event is to whet the appetite of CASE students and prospective students on the tremendous opportunities that abound at the College to shape their future.”

She addes that, this year’s event will, “provide the opportunity for persons to learn more about the college and its academic offering, get ‘first-hand’ exposure to agricultural and scientific technologies, music and art forms, tour the livestock and other farm areas of the college and participate in quizzes and competitions in different subject areas.”

Major Johnathan Lamey – CASE Vice President of Academic Programme (sitting) explains the operations of the impressive Cadet Group at the institution at a previous Open Day while students and lecturers Mr. Spence Jarrett looks on.

The College’s Career and Placement Officer, Mrs. Paulette Smith also expresses her delight about the number of prospective employers slated to show at the event. “We have over 17 confirmed booths for the Career Segment of the Expo so far, and I’m using this opportunity to encourage our students to come out dressed appropriately for business interviews as part of their professional grooming,” Mrs. Smith stated.

As part of its outreach mandate, the College of Agriculture, Science and Education will open its gates for persons from the surrounding communities to come and learn more on preventative and curative health, view sample products from various companies, get free health checks (Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Sugar and HIV Tests etc.)

Also, there will be live radio outside broadcast and entertainment.
